First time I heard this new Nickelback song, I wasn’t sure about it. Now that I’ve listened to it a few times, I’ve added it to my latest song rotation.

Why Are People In Their 30’s Giving Up On Music?

Article: Bring that beat back: why are people in their 30s giving up on music?
I’m 45 and still discovering new music and loving it. Kind of sad to read that a lot of others stop enjoying new music in their 30s.

New CD, Who Dis?
I purchased a new CD album recently. I believe it is the first CD I’ve purchased in probably 15 or 16 years. I remember thinking buying tracks on iTunes for 99 cents back in 2004 was the greatest thing ever, and I stopped buying CDs shortly after because I had an iTunes library.
I’ve been slowly switching back to owning physical media again over the past few years. I do worry that someday I won’t have access to the digital content I’ve purchased over the years. I remember listening to a podcast last year and heard the comment that “if you can’t hold it, you don’t truly own it.” Until now, most of the physical media has been focused on movies, but I have been enjoying the music on Ron Killing’s new White Album and decided to buy the CD.
First thing I did when I got it was pulling out an old computer with a disk drive and digitizing the album. It was a bit weird doing so because it made me a little nostalgic. I remember spending time converting CDs when I would buy them back in the last 90s and early 2000s and having my digital stash along with my physical.
The best part is I still have all that music. I’ve kept it on a drive for many years and move it to a new drive when I purchase a new backup. I even have my music backed up online as well. It was kind of fun adding new music to my collection in a long time. Kind of makes me wonder what my next album purchase might me.
In case you are wondering, the CD I purchased was the White Album by Ron Killings. Great Music. I highly recommend checking it out.
