I had mentioned in a previous post that I was having a hard time wanting to read again, and I was trying to figure out ways to drive my interest back to books. Well, good news, I think the movie Mortal Engines has done just that.
I went to see the movie on Sunday. I went by myself because my wife wasn’t sure if she would like it. I knew nothing about this movie other than what little I had seen in the trailer. I never looked it up to find out more. I was simply intrigued by the trailer and decided to give it a shot and just see. At the end of the movie, I was sitting there during the credits happy that I had taken a chance on the movie. I really liked it, and while I was getting ready to leave, I saw on the screen that it was based on a book. WHAT?! Really?
Many years ago I saw a suggestion for people not sure if they want to read a book: go see the movie if there is a film adaption. I’ve taken that to heart over the years and seen movies of books that I may be interested in. This time, I wasn’t even aware that the movie came from a book and was a little surprised, so I have decided to find the books and read them. A little digging turns up that there are four of them in the series, so I’ve got some reading ahead of me very soon.
